Come to think of it, not for about five or more years. It was the spring of 2013, when we visited the CIA, and experienced peak bloom day for the famous cherry blossoms. We also visited Dirty Pat in Annapolis, toured the Naval Academy, and Annapolis. I also visited three more states (Delaware, West Virginia and New Jersey), on my quest for all fifty.
This trip is a little different. I have no set agenda or places to visit. But I do enjoy the Newseum, the Smithsonians, live music at the Kennedy Center, and the great food and watering holes of downtown DC.
So, with summer ending, and Fall on the cusp, what is the plan? For one, try some new DC dining and watering holes. Two, find some music or theater. And three, visit some dear friends.
Dinner with dear friends is at the top of my agenda. One has a precocious three year old, and the other a mid teenager who once liked to play Beethoven on the piano while watching You Tube surgical procedures!!! Then an esteemed colleague at Duke over in NC.
