Doing something nice for others is always a personal reward. In the long run, the kindness and generosity we exhibit defines us more than anything else. In years past, we always gave our Christmas Day to volunteer and charity events. In many ways, serving food at the “Christmas for Everyone” event in our former Bay Area hometown was the best Christmas. It rivaled the days when the kids were young, and Christmas Day was a big event. The Christmas dinner we helped serve all day was so good, we ate our dinner there too!!
So, may I ask you to do one small act of kindness today. Whether you donate used clothing to a charity, or simply donate money to your favorite charity, please take part.

Earlier this month, we loaded our car with mostly clothing and some household goods and donated to Animal Rescue Fresno. We also donated to: American Red Cross, Holt International (adoption organization of my adopted daughter), Wings of Rescue (they fly animals from “kill” shelters and disaster areas to safe havens), the Napa Vine Trail, and the Bulldog Pantry.
We appreciate whatever you can spare. Whatever you do, remember this. Americans are the most giving people in the world. Nobody else is the world helps others as much as Americans!
