I saw Insider’s Joey Hayden’s summary of his/her travel in 2022. It is a much different summary than I have ever done.
I visited nine foreign countries: Germany, Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, France, Turkey, Poland, and Portugal.
I visited ten different states: Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Maryland, DC, Virginia, Louisiana, Hawaii, Illinois, and Texas.

I used planes, train and cruise ship for the foreign travel. I rarely rent a car in Europe.
The author took 18 foreign flights, to the best of my recollection, I took fourteen foreign flights, one train and one cruise ship.
I visited many small towns and islands, along with big cities like Istanbul, Munich, Paris, Warsaw, Lisboa, Porto, Frankfurt, Belgrade, and Athens.
Yes, I went outside my comfort zone on the small cruise ship, and the group cycling along with it. Never again!

The highlights: the French Open tennis in Paris, the Hotel Moskva in Belgrade, my Greek brothers in Athens, the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, the Munchener Stubn in Munich.
The lowlights: my cycling accident in Croatia and getting a bad cough in Europe.
What did I learn? Maybe I am getting to old for solo adventures?
What makes it fun? Making friends along the way, of course!

Future plans: Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia, take Mr. Mike to Japan, visit my Greek brothers in Athens, cycle in Champagne, Tour de France.
What about you and your travel plans??
